The main areas at a glance

Neapolis — central seafront

Between the Old Town and the hotel area. Akti Olympion Beach and the Molos promenade on foot, cafés, restaurants and supermarkets next door. City life rather than a resort, and quieter streets behind the seafront.

Good for: families, couples, longer stays, anyone who wants the beach and the city without a car.

Old Town and Limassol Marina

The castle, narrow streets full of bars and restaurants, the marina with its yachts and boutiques. Lively in the evenings; parking in the centre can take time.

Good for: short city breaks, nightlife, history.

Germasogeia and the tourist area

East of the centre along the coast: big hotels, beach bars, a classic holiday atmosphere. The Old Town is a drive or bus ride away.

Good for: a hotel beach holiday.

Amathus and Agios Tychonas

Further east: large resort hotels and a quieter coast. You will need a car or taxi to get into the city.

Good for: a resort hotel stay.

What to check before you book

Beach on foot? Look at the walking time, not "near the sea" — in Limassol the coastal road can separate you from the beach.
Parking. In the centre and by the beach, a private space saves a lot of time in season.
Space. For a family or a stay of a week or more, a two-bedroom apartment with a kitchen and washing machine is easier than a hotel room.
Book direct. Many apartments are cheaper on their own website than on Booking.com and Airbnb.
